Athletic Fields Demand/Use Study

The Department of Public Works requested $31,000 and was appropriated $20,220 by Town Meeting in 2015 to hire a consultant to conduct a demand/use study of Falmouth athletic fields. The fields at the time were overused and inadequate to meet demand. Many were in bad condition and deteriorating rapidly.
The study would include documentation and analysis of current usage of the fields, scheduling, needs, recommended uses for the fields, and field maintenance requirements. The result would allow the Department to develop a long-term plan, based on needs and costs, for expansion and ongoing maintenance of the fields. The schools and DPW would collaborate to implement and manage the plan.
