Location: Townwide
Applicant: Parks and Recreation Department
Allocation: $100,000
Year/Article: November 2014, A41

In 2013, the Department of Public Works Parks used a software program acquired partially with CP funds to perform a condition rating on all of the Town’s recreational assets, using a scale of 1-4. During that process, the Parks Department identified deteriorated ballfield fences and backstops with a low rating of 3 or 4 at ten playing fields. The Parks Department applied to the CPFund for $300,000 for replacement of the fences and backstops, and in November 2014 Town Meeting appropriated $100,000 to support the cost of replacing the backstops.

Backstops and related fencing will be replaced with cost-efficient and easily replaceable modular units at ballfields at the School Administration Building, Central Park, West Falmouth, Fonseca Park, Taft Park, Teaticket School, North Falmouth School, Lawrence School, Morse Pond School, and Guv Fuller Field. The work will be completed in 2016.
